Foreign Body (2013)

Sculpture and Performance

“Foreign Body” is highly linked with human fragility and perseverance; in substance as well as the approach. The sculptural body is prone to fractures and each day after repair, a fracture occurs elsewhere. As a performance, I repair using pins, glue and microscopic tape – elements belonging to medical practices. "Foreign Body" aims to re-frame cultural narratives, and issue a call to the audience to engage in the exploration of endurance and a shared sense of vulnerability.
