KaleidoSkeleton Ti : 2 (2020)

This project is a multi-dimensional artivist act traversing radically inclusive politics, and articulating life-long pain, that subverts the racism, ableism, sexism and classism within the field of medical sciences.

Medium(s): Data-informed networks (using visual language and programming software) and the artists personal medical archive.

KaleidoSkeleton Ti : 2 (2020) manifests as audio-visual generative stim building upon the key themes and research for ‘KaleidoSkeleton Ti : 1’ - lived experience expertise, centring agency, and subverting the medical model of disability. ‘KaleidoSkeleton Ti : 2 moves beyond aesthetic translations of pain, and brings in the aural, and the visual vestibular as an audio-visual embodied stim, honouring disabled intersectional lives as world re-makers, valuing societal presence and wellbeing as as pivotal to the experience of the disabled quality of life, whilst the experience of making - and the output - provide moments of self-choreographed release during the COVID19 pandemic. The pandemic has severely impacted the disabled community more than other societal group (survey by Office for National Statistics). This is magnified for multiply marginalised disabled people, yet ignored by the government and mainstream society – many high-risk disabled people are living in perpetual fear.
